Event Volunteers
The JBG Kolkata Marathon is more than a race—it is a celebration of running, community, fitness and the spirit of Kolkata. We invite enthusiastic individuals to join us as Event Volunteers and become an integral part of the team behind the race.
- Volunteers can contribute during the pre-event period, Bib Expo and/or Race Day, across a wide range of operational activities.
- Responsibilities may include participant assistance, registration, bib collection, kit distribution, venue management, crowd management, runner guidance and race-day operations.
- We welcome students, working professionals, runners, sports enthusiasts and anyone who is energetic, responsible and willing to contribute.
- No prior marathon or event-management experience is required; volunteers will be briefed before deployment.
- The opportunity is non-paid; volunteers serving during the Bib Expo and/or Race Day will receive food during their duty period, along with a Certificate of Appreciation for successful completion of their responsibilities.

JBG Kolkata Marathon —
Photo-Videography Volunteers
A marathon is made up of thousands of moments—the excitement, determination, emotions and celebrations that make every race unique. We invite passionate photographers, videographers, content creators and photography enthusiasts to join the JBG Kolkata Marathon team and capture these moments.
- Volunteers will be deployed during the Bib Expo and/or Race Day, at event venues and designated locations along the race route.
- You may capture runners, the race atmosphere, start and finish moments, crowd interactions, celebrations, volunteers, behind-the-scenes activities and the overall spirit of the marathon.
- Professional experience is not mandatory—amateurs, students, enthusiasts and professionals are all welcome.
- Volunteers are expected to use their own camera, smartphone or photography/videography equipment.
- The opportunity is non-paid, and volunteers who successfully complete their assigned responsibilities will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.

Kolkata Marathon
Medical Army (KMMA)
The Kolkata Marathon Medical Army (KMMA) is a unique runner-led initiative created to make the JBG Kolkata Marathon safer for everyone. It brings together registered JBG Kolkata Marathon runners who volunteer to look out for fellow runners in distress during the race. Also Non-Registered person can join as QRT Team Member.
- KMMA volunteers act as the eyes and ears on the route—spotting, assisting and alerting when a runner needs help.
- They work in coordination with the JBGKM medical team, medical stations, QRTs and emergency-response teams.
- No medical qualification is required—if you are a registered runner and willing to help, you can join KMMA.
- Selected volunteers will receive a pre-race briefing on identifying distress, basic first response, communication and escalation protocols.
- The opportunity is non-paid, and volunteers who complete their responsibilities will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
