Run For A Cause

This year, the JBG Kolkata Marathon steps into history with its landmark 10th edition — and a brand-new chapter of inclusivity that promises to inspire the nation.

For the first time ever, we are joining hands with the Paralympic Committee of India, championing the dreams of Indian Para Athletes competing at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi (September 27 – October 5, 2025). This powerful association fuels India’s vision for gold, giving our para champions the support they need to shine on the world stage.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there. Our beloved fitness icons Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar return as event ambassadors, bringing their unmatched enthusiasm and passion for health, resilience, and the joy of running to inspire thousands.

The JBG Kolkata Marathon is more than just a race. It’s a celebration of unity, courage, and perseverance — where seasoned athletes, first-time runners, enthusiastic citizens, and specially-abled participants all come together to chase one goal. Guided by our motto Run for a Cause and theme Feels like Joy, this edition is dedicated to building a healthier Bengal and a stronger India.

In 2025, determination will know no boundaries… and joy will run through every heart on the streets of Kolkata.

Nishant Maheshwari
CEO of Sportiz & Race Director, JBG Kolkata Marathon

“I feel a lot of gratitude and pride, as this has always been a dream for me and Gaurav. I still remember the first edition — at that time, this event was called the JBG Kolkata Trail Run. Every step and every year since then has been nothing short of magic. The event is made in Kolkata, organized by the runners of Kolkata, and promoted by the runners of Kolkata.”

A Historic Milestone for Kolkata

The 10th Edition of JBG Kolkata Marathon marked a defining moment in the city’s sporting journey, uniting over 10,000 runners in a surge of collective triumph. For the very first time, JBG Kolkata Marathon unveiled its Half Marathon, igniting a thriving community of endurance seekers.

This landmark spectacle soared higher with celebrated fitness icons Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar, whose passion for wellness fueled every stride, joined by an Actress, Triathlete and fitness enthusiast Saiyami Kher igniting the exciteful atmosphere.

Breaking new ground, the event launched a first-of-its-kind Cosplay Run in association with Comic Con India Volunteer Legion—blending fitness, creativity, and youth culture in a vibrant street celebration unlike anything Kolkata has seen.

Echoing this call to action, the official anthem and the hashtag Cholo Dourai serves as the ultimate wake-up call, urging every citizen to rise, run, and build a fitter India.

The 10th Edition Cause

The 10th edition wasn’t just about scale — it was about purpose.

JBG Kolkata Marathon proudly partnered with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), marking a powerful step toward inclusivity in Indian sports. This collaboration supports Indian para-athletes preparing for the World Para Athletics Championships, New Delhi (September 27 – October 5, 2025) — reinforcing India’s vision for global sporting excellence.

This association reflects a deeper commitment: to ensure that sport is accessible, empowering, and celebratory for everyone — regardless of ability.

Guided by the motto “Run for a Cause” and the theme “Feels Like Joy”, the marathon brought together professional athletes, first-time runners, fitness enthusiasts, and specially-abled participants — united by resilience, courage, and the joy of movement.

Kolkata Marathon Medical Army (KMMA)

At JBG Kolkata Marathon, passion powers every stride—preparedness safeguards it.

The 10th Edition debuted the Kolkata Marathon Medical Army (KMMA)—a pioneering force redefining event safety. Not just stationed along the route, KMMA volunteers ran alongside participants, delivering instant support wherever needed, equipped with personal medical kits stocked for first aid, fatigue, dehydration, and emergencies.

Partnering with Iris Hospital, Kolkata, they mastered CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), and marathon-specific protocols—ensuring elite athletes and first-timers alike felt secure from start to finish.

At JBGKM, safety doesn't trail the race. It runs with you.

The Soundtrack of the Streets – Song Launch: Cholo Dourai

Every great marathon has a rhythm.
In Kolkata, that rhythm found its voice in “Cholo Dourai.”

Launched as the official anthem of the JBG Kolkata Marathon 10th Edition, Cholo Dourai is more than just a song — it is an emotion that mirrors the pulse of the city and the spirit of its runners.

Conceptualized, written, and composed by Kaustav Banerjee, and brought to life through the evocative voice of Surjo Bhattacharjee, the track captures the essence of movement — the anticipation at the start line, the grit through every kilometer, and the euphoria of crossing the finish.

Blending contemporary sound with the cultural soul of Kolkata, the anthem resonates with both seasoned runners and first-time participants. It became a unifying thread throughout the marathon journey — from training playlists to race-day energy.

Available on Gaana, Apple Music, Jio Saavn, Spotify and Youtube Cholo Dourai quickly evolved into a motivational companion, encouraging runners to push limits and embrace the joy of the run.

Because sometimes, it’s not just your heartbeat you run to —
It's the music that carries you forward.
